NORWOOD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A young boy drowned in Norwood Friday.
Police and fire officials responded to a home in Norwood at about 5 p.m. after a 4-year-old child drowned in a pool. Police say, it appears to be a tragic accident.
When officials first arrived on the scene, they found family members trying to perform CPR on the child who was pulled from the bottom of the pool. Paramedics took over CPR and transported the boy to Norwood Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The 4-year-old boy was visiting his cousins, he is not from Norwood.
"They're very close friends of ours, very close family; just feel terrible," one neighbor said.
Norwood police tweeted Friday evening saying, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
No other information was immediately released.
