LYNN, Mass. — Three people have been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of a Lynn man on July 4, according to the Essex County Distrct Attorney’s Office.
An additional person may still be charged in the death of Noe Hernandez, 35, and police say they are seeking a warrant.
Hernandez was found shot, along with four other people, on Fayette Street around 10 p.m. July 4 in Lynn. He was rushed to the hospital in Salem, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Tyrell Berberena, 25, Marcus Carlisle, 22, and Josue Cespedes, 17, face the same charges in this case, which includes murder.
Berberna, who was arrested Monday in Cambridge, was arraigned in Lynn District Court Tuesday for murder, 4 counts of armed assault with intent to murder, 4 counts of assault & battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury and carrying a firearm without a license. Judge Jean Curran ordered him held without bail.
Carlisle was arrested in Long Beach, California Monday and investigators say they are working to arrange his return to Essex County.
Cespedes is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
Another man was flown to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition. Three other people were shot at the same cookout and are expected to survive.
This shooting in Lynn followed numerous violent incidents this past week in the Boston area. On Friday, a 15-year-old girl was shot at South Shore Plaza mall. On Thursday, four shootings happened across Dorchester, Mattapan, Roxbury and Somerville, including a 15-year-boy being shot and killed.
