LYNN, Mass. — Five people were shot, one fatally, Saturday night in Lynn, according to the Essex District Attorney’s Office and Lynn Police.

The DA’s Office later identified the victim of that fatal shooting Sunday afternoon as Noe Hernandez, 35, of Lynn.

Around 10 p.m. Saturday night, police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 134 Fayette Street, according to an official release. Five people were shot at a cookout.

Hernandez was transported to Salem Hospital where he later died. Another man was flown to a Boston area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The three other people shot are expected to live.

No arrests have been made.

The Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Essex State Police Detective Unit and Lynn Police are investigating.

This shooting in Lynn followed numerous violent incidents this past week in the Boston area. On Friday, a 15-year-old girl was shot at South Shore Plaza mall. On Thursday, four shootings happened across Dorchester, Mattapan, Roxbury and Somerville, including a 15-year-boy being shot and killed.
