2 young children hospitalized, man arrested following DUI crash

PELHAM, N.H. — A 26-year-old New Hampshire man has been arrested for a drunken driving crash that injured two young children.

Emergency responders were called to a single car crash on Mammoth Road near Old County Road in Pelham, New Hampshire just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found a maroon truck off the road with heavy frontend damage.

Police say the driver, 26-year-old Antonio DiRocco lost control of the truck, causing it to cross lanes before striking a telephone pole. The pole was cut in half upon impact. Airbags throughout the entire vehicle deployed.

DiRocco had two children in the car at the time, a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy. Both were taken to Lowell General Hospital for medical attention and DiRocco was arrested on scene.

Police charged DiRocco with driving under the influence, aggravated DUI charges, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless operation, yellow line violation, criminal mischief, and open container. He is due in court on Feb. 11.
