UPDATE: Brison and Small were officially charged with the murder of Raheem Ramirez in Suffolk Court on July 28.
BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two men were arraigned on Friday following a deadly shooting in Roxbury on Thursday night.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots on Greenville Street just after 11 p.m. Raheem Ramirez, 22, and another man 24, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Ramirez was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he later died. The second victim is expected to survive.
Witnesses described the two suspects to police and said the suspects drove away on a scooter. Police later found two men matching the description and attempted to pull them over, which is when they say the scooter driver, later identified as 24-year-old Lamar Brison, led them on a chase.
When the scooter came to a stop, police say that the second suspect, 18-year-old Elijah Small, ran away. While Small allegedly fled the scene, police say a handgun fell out of his waistband.
Both men were taken into custody and held on $100,000 cash bail. The suspects were charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm. Brison was also charged with misleading an investigator motor vehicle offenses.
