LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) - Two people are dead of gunshot wounds in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide in Lawrence.
The Essex district attorney's office released a statement that said 63-year-old Nelson Delarosa shot and killed his longtime girlfriend, 33-year-old Matilde Gabin, at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, then took his own life in the driveway of her Park Street home.
Acting police Chief James Fitzpatrick told The Eagle-Tribune that no children were involved.
Authorities did not provide a motive.
Mayor Daniel Rivera said in a tweet that "We as a community must do more to stop this societal attack on women."
The deaths remain under investigation
