North Attleborough triple-stabbing victims, suspect identified

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. — A second person has died after a triple stabbing in North Attleborough Thursday night and the suspect has been identified, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's office.

The DA's office said police were called to the scene at 25 Birch Road, around 8:40 p.m., for a reported stabbing.

The two people who were killed, both from North Attleborough, were identified as 21-year-old Aidan Hanrahan, who was found dead at the scene, and Johsua Lemken, who died after he was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries, the DA's office said.

A third person, also 21 from North Attleborough, was found outside the home with apparent stab wounds and was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was last in serious but stable condition, according to the district attorney's office.

Officials identified the suspect in the stabbings as Daniel Randall, 19, of North Attleborough.

After the stabbing, authorities said Randall ran to a nearby Honey Dew where he called 911 begging for help.

"He also called his father," said Morissette. "In speaking with first responders, the defendant admitting to killing someone."

According to police, the stabbing happened at Randall's home on the night Hanrahan was celebrating his 21st birthday.

"When police made entry up to the 2nd floor in the back bedroom, they located Aidan Hanrahan," said Morissette. "He had turned 21 that day. He was slouched over the end of the bed covered in blood."

He is being charged with two counts of murder and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the stabbing, the DA's office said. He was taken into custody Thursday night.

According to court documents, the stabbing may have stemmed from an argument over drugs.

Randall was held without bail after a court hearing Friday morning.

Clarification: One of the injured victims was initially misidentified by the Bristol DA's office as a 21-year-old Billerica man. The DA's office said Friday that he is from North Attleborough.
