See You at The Duxbury Zip Trip Friday, 8/24

Boston 25 Morning News is finishing up its 15th season of Zip Trips in Duxbury! Come join us at Duxbury High School (71 Alden Street, 02332) on Friday, August 24th from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for some summer fun. The live broadcast will be hosted by Boston 25 News anchors Gene Lavanchy and Elizabeth Hopkins, Meteorologist Shiri Spear and Studio 25 Host Michele Lazcano.

“I can’t believe we’re putting the final touches on our season finale,” said Lavanchy.  “We’ve had a great time meeting the people and visiting the places that make our Zip Trip communities so special.  Zip Trips have become a staple of summer and one of our favorite parts of the job.”

Neighbors, residents and kids of all ages are invited to share their “Duxbury Pride” and be part of Boston 25’s live audience.  The festival-like atmosphere includes free activities for kids, games, refreshments and fun.

“It’s been great bringing my forecast and our show on the road,” Spear added. “Meeting the people and hearing about what makes their hometown a great place to live has been a summer highlight for me.”

The morning crew will explore hidden gems in this beautiful coastal town and learn why world-renowned chefs want a certain Duxbury delicacy on their menus! The finale will include a mix of features and live interviews with newsmakers, hometown teams and local heroes. We’ll also get a taste of summer with visits from local eateries. Zip Trip attendees are encouraged to bring a box of healthy cereal to benefit the South Shore Community Action Council’s Team Up Against Hunger program.  Join us in Duxbury on August 24th!
