It won’t be quite as warm or bright as yesterday, but today will still be nice. Easterly winds will carry cooler air towards the coastline. Afternoon temperatures at the immediate coast will stay in the 50s (or even drop from midday lower 60s back into the 50s). Interior towns and cities will reach the low and mid 60s this afternoon depending on how much sunshine sticks around. Overall it looks like clouds will do a good job of puffing up this afternoon, we can’t rule out a few interior showers either.
Dress for the lower 50s if you’ll be dining outside or sitting by a firepit this evening.
WEEKEND IN VIEW
An ocean storm will pass well offshore Saturday. Although we don’t expect any direct impacts, it will prevent a disturbance to our west from progressing very far. The stalled “trough” will generate showers in New York and parts of western New England. Although I can’t rule out a few afternoon sprinkles locally, it looks like we’ll sit between systems with generally dry and cloudy conditions. It will be cooler too with highs in the 50s.
Mothers’ Day will start with sun, 40s and 50s. Clouds will creep in during the afternoon, but they shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying the mild weather. Highs will land in the 60s. Enjoy!
Late Sunday night the next rain will move in and peak Monday morning.
