Bank robbery suspect arrested for Hurricane Sandy heist

FALL RIVER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A 28-year-old man reportedly responsible for a bank robbery that occurred during Hurricane Sandy on Monday has been arrested.

Shawn Martin, whose last known address was in Westport, was apprehended by police in Fall River on Tuesday.

Martin was wanted in connection with two robberies, including the robbery at the Citizen Union bank located at 501 Rodman St. that occurred during Monday's storm.

Martin has also been charged with the robbery at Rockland Trust located at 855 Brayton Ave. that occurred on Oct. 23. He is being charged with one count of unarmed robbery for each robbery.

Police also arrested 48-year-old William Solomon for his reported involvement in the robbery of the Citizen Union bank. He is being charged with one count of unarmed robbery.
