WEATHER ALERT: MESSY MONDAY
A strong area of low pressure will pass west of New England bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and the potential for urban flooding in poor drainage areas. There is also potential for minor river/stream flooding across the area through Tuesday.
Rain arrives by the Monday morning commute so expect wet roadways as well as some ponding throughout the day with rain of varying intensities, a few rumbles of thunder possible...a total of 1-2″ of rain is expected. We’ll be on the mild side of the storm with temperatures rising into the low 60s by the afternoon along as well as an increasing south wind gusting 30-40 mph. However, the strongest winds are expected to arrive across eastern MA & RI during the evening and continue crank through the overnight hours with peak wind gusts reaching 60 mph! Minor damage and isolated power outages are possible. Showers end west to east along with diminishing winds by daybreak Tuesday.
QUIETER REST OF WEEK
Our Tuesday will remain a breezy one, but the day will be far more sunny with dry conditions setting in once again. Expect highs to be in the mid 40s with temps falling through most of the afternoon.
Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week with highs likely trapped in the upper 30s. The sun will be out though and will continue to shine into the later days of the week too. We’ll see a steady rebound in temps back to mid-upper 40s through the remainder of the week. This puts us right around our average for this time of year, and the seasonable weather should continue into the weekend.
