ATLANTA — Atlanta will host the 2019 Super Bowl, NFL officials announced Tuesday.
The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Miami will host the 2020 Super Bowl and the 2021 Super Bowl will be in Los Angeles.
2020 will be the first time Super Bowl 44 that the game will be played in South Florida.
Other potential sites for Super Bowls 2019, 2020 and 2021 included New Orleans and Tampa.
This will be the third Super Bowl hosted in Atlanta. The first two were in 1994 and 2000.
Several recent Super Bowls have been granted to cities with new stadiums. The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is set to open in downtown Atlanta in 2017.
