Red Sox come out on top against Astros in Game 3 of ALCS

The Red Sox wanted to ride a wave of momentum after tying the American League Championship Series against the Astros at 1-1, looking to take a 2-1 lead in Houston.

Here was the lineup for tonight's game:

Chris Sale will be available for the game, if needed, after being hospitalized on Sunday for a reported stomach illness. He was released from the hospital on Monday, and joined the team ahead of Game 3.

LIVE SCORING UPDATES:
9:00 p.m.: The Red Sox win 8-2 against the Astros to take a 2-1 series lead!

8:53 p.m.: The Red Sox take the mound in the bottom of the ninth with a six-run lead in an 8-2 game against the Astros.

8:25 p.m.: Jackie Bradley Jr. smashes a grand slam to make it 8-2 Red Sox in the eighth inning.

8:23 p.m.: Back-to-back batters hit by Roberto Osuna brings in Steve Pearce to make it 4-2 Red Sox.

7:18 p.m.: Tony Kemp can't catch this one as a Steve Pearce home run to left field makes it 3-2 Red Sox in the sixth inning.
7:11 p.m.: Alex Bregman ties it up at 2-2 with a double after an awkward bounce towards Rafael Devers to score Jose Altuve. 
6:20 p.m.: Tony Kemp saves the day for the Astros with an incredible catch, holding the Red Sox lead to 2-1.
6:00 p.m.: Heading into the third inning, the Red Sox hold onto a 2-1 lead with the top of the order back at the plate.
5:42 p.m.: Marwin Gonzalez singles to drive in a run and set up runners on first and third for Josh Reddick in the first inning. The Red Sox lead is cut to 2-1 in the bottom of the inning.
5:18 p.m.: Xander Bogaerts grounds out with one out, with Andrew Benintendi scoring and J.D. Martinez moving to third in a 2-0 game in the first inning.

5:15 p.m.: J.D. Martinez drives in Mookie Betts after Betts and Andrew Benintendi get on base to start the game in the first inning. The Red Sox take an early 1-0 lead.
