- Benintendi was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 31st round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft,[4] but he did not sign with the Reds.

- As a sophomore he won SEC player of the year and the Golden Spikes award (College baseball player of the year)
- Benintendi was draft again this time seventh overall by the Red Sox. This was the Red Sox highest pick since Trot Nixon was drafted seventh overall in 1993.
- Benintendi hit .312 with 31 doubles, 12 triples, nine home runs and a .910 OPS in 97 games between two minor league levels this season.
