Worcester man arrested in connection with assault, impersonating officer

PORTSMOUTH, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Worcester man wanted on serious charges, including impersonating an officer, turned himself in to N.H. police Thursday.

Twenty-seven-year-old Paul Richford has been charged with several crimes, including three counts of false personation, witness tampering, obstructing the report of a crime, three counts of sexual assault and six counts of simple assault.

Portsmouth police say the incidents happened between July 1 and September 9 at the Burger King on Layfayette Street. Richford used to work there, police say, but he is no longer an employee.

He is being held on $10,000 bail and is set to be arraigned Friday.
