Worcester cyclist identified after fatal collision with tow truck

WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester police identified the bicyclist who was killed after hitting an illegally parked tow truck Thursday night.

Ronald Corey, 45, of Worcester rode his bike into an unoccupied, parked tow truck that was obstructing the bicycle lane on the side of Southbridge St., police said.

Officers and paramedics found Corey suffering from serious injuries shortly after 11:15 p.m. Corey died at a local hospital.

Worcester Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

The tow truck was towed away for obstructing public travel, police said.
