Imagine this: a slot machine in a casino shows you won a jackpot, but the house says you didn't.
That's exactly what happened to one New York woman who thought she hit it big to the tune of $43 million.
The apparent jackpot hit happened in late August at Resorts World Casino in New York. When the woman went to claim her prize, she was told the machine had malfunctioned.
"He offered me a steak dinner," Katrina Bookman, who thought she won the jackpot, said.
"They win and the house doesn't want to pay out. To me that's unfair," said Bookman's attorney, Alan Ripka.
The woman says she plans to sue the casino, but the Gaming Commission says they can't legally give her the max pay-out. The Commission says the only winning she can collect is $2.25.
