Woman hit, killed by Commuter Rail train in Andover

ANDOVER, Mass. — A woman was killed when she was hit by a Commuter Rail train in Andover.

The incident was reported around 10 p.m. about 100 yards from the Ballardvale Station.

The victim, who is believed to be about 40-years-old, was hit and killed by an outbound Haverhill Line train.

There were about 50 passengers on board at the time of the incident.

MBTA Transit Police, along with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating the incident.

This is the second time in eight months that someone has been killed by a train in Andover.
