METHUEN, Mass. — A head-on crash in Methuen left one person dead and two others injured on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the area of 568 Merrimack Street just before 6 p.m. for a report of a serious head-on collision.
Preliminary investigation shows a 2001 Toyota sedan operated by a 20-year-old Haverhill woman was traveling eastbound while a 2004 Chevy Blazer operated by a 63-year-old Methuen man was traveling westbound.
Authorities believe the Toyota crossed over the center line and crashed head-on with the Blazer.
The 23-year-old passenger of the Toyota, Devanah Walker, of Haverhill, was rushed to a hospital in Boston via Medflight, but later died from her injuries.
Both drivers was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
