Whole Foods Market recalling chicken curry salad

EVERETT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Whole Foods Market in Everett is recalling about 234 pounds of curry chicken salad due to a risk of Listeria.

The chicken curry salad was packaged on Oct. 16, 2015. Consumers bought the salad either in prepackaged containers, from the salad bar, in chef's cases or in prepared sandwiches and wraps.

Whole Foods Market discovered the potential for Listeria from a sample test performed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. It can be treated with antibiotics.

Consumers who have purchased these products should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
