An Obama administration senior technology adviser was killed in a bicycle accident Saturday.

Jake Brewer was participating in a charity bicycle ride when he lost control at a sharp curve in the race course, crossed a double-yellow line and was struck by a vehicle, according to CBS News.

Brewer, 34, was a senior policy adviser in the White House Office of the Chief Technology office, according to CBS News.

Brewer's wife, Katherine Ham, posted about her husband's death on Instagram Sunday.

“We lost our Jake yesterday, and I lost part of my heart and the father of my sweet babies,” she wrote. “I will miss him forever, even more than I can know right now.”
