What color is this dress?

TWITTERVERSE (MyFoxBoston.com) -- What color is this dress?

That question, along with the photo of a dress spread like wild fire on Twitter Thursday. The debate continued to grow as some proclaimed the dress was white with gold stripes while others saw a blue dress with black stripes.

BuzzFeed posted a poll, and as of Thursday night 774,000 people voted for white and gold while 283,000 voted for blue and black.

Neuroscientist Bevil Conway, who studies vision and color at Wellesley College, tried to explain it to Wired.com, saying, "What's happening here is your visual system is looking at this thing, and you're trying to discount the chromatic bias of the daylight axis. So people either discount the blue side, in which case they end up seeing white and gold, or discount the gold side, in which case they end up with blue and black."

And for the record, Conway sees blue and orange, strangely.

So what do you think?
