WELLESLEY, Mass. — The dancing Donald Trumps are no more.
Fiske Elementary School in Wellesley nixed a performance by three 11-year-old boys whose talent show act included wearing giant Donald Trump masks and dancing for two minutes without saying anything.
Officials told the boys to ditch the masks or sit out of the afternoon talent show Wednesday, after receiving a complaint about their performance at a morning show.
A second skit was also banned. That skit featured Marco Rubio and Donald Trump having a dance off.
“It did make me kind of sad because we had worked so hard to make it funny,” Andrew Vanderveen, one of the boys from the secon skit, said.
“If they take it for what it was, boys dancing and having fun, it is a talker. I’m not sure where the craziness came from,” Deb Vanderveen, Andrew's mother, told FOX25.
It's not clear who complained or why.
The superintendent of Wellesley schools, David Lussier, says it's important for the schools to be seen as nonpartisan in a "highly charged election environment."
