HYANNIS, Mass. — Five people have been arrested and charged after an armed home invasion in Hyannis.
Just before 11:30 p.m. Monday, Barnstable Police were called to 18 General Patton Dr. in Hyannis for a reported armed home invasion.
Initial reports were that several armed people in masks entered the home and yelled "Barnstable Police!" They showed guns and assaulted several of the occupants.
The suspects fled the home in a black SUV. Officers stopped the SUV and arrested Derek Burden of Plymouth, Vedel Haynes of Plymouth, Dehkwon Marshall-Rabb of Hyannis and Dayshaun Tatum of Plymouth. They are charged with armed home invasion, armed robbery while masked and conspiracy to commit armed home invasion. Tatum is also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police say they later learned that Jennifer Schaaf of Hyannis was inside the home during the incident and initially said she was a victim. Police later learned she participated in planning the home invasion. She is charged with home invasion, conspiracy and armed robbery while masked.
The incident remains under investigation.
