Victim identified after fatal pedestrian crash in Shrewsbury

The victim involved in a fatal pedestrian crash in Shrewsbury has been identified, according to Shrewsbury Police.

Police said they responded to a pedestrian crash on February 24 in front of Domino's Pizza on Route 9 in Shrewsbury, and the victim was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center where they later died from their injuries.

Shrewsbury Police said Friday that they were continuing their investigation into the crash, and identified the victim as 51-year-old Robert W. Curnin of Fitchburg.

Police said the vehicle was traveling on Route 9 eastbound in the right lane when it struck Curnin. The driver, a 39-year-old Westborough woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

No charges have been filed as the crash remains under investigation.
