ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A body found in a Virginia park Friday morning has been identified as missing 16-year-old girl.
Jholie Moussa was last seen leaving her home on Jan. 12 after she told her twin sister she was going to a party, News4 reported. She texted her sister the party was in Norfolk, Virginia, which is about 200 miles away.
"She texted me that she was going to Norfolk," her twin Zhane Moussa told News4. "And I'm, like, isn't that more than 3 hours away?"
The day she disappeared, Zhane said that she seemed distracted.
The family reported her missing the next day.
Originally, police said they believed she was a runaway and "based on the facts of the case, there is nothing that indicates that Moussa is in any danger."
Jholie's body was found 14 days later in the wooded area of a park not far from her home.
Her death is being investigated as a homicide and the FBI is assisting with the investigation.
