Tsarnaev family members moved out of Revere hotel

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Family members of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been moved from a hotel in Revere out of the city, the police chief confirmed Saturday.

Six members of the Tsarnaev family arrived in Boston from out of the country on Thursday afternoon. They were brought to the Hampton Inn in Revere. Some family members may be used by Tsarnaev's defense team as witnesses in the penalty phase of his trial, which began this past Tuesday and will resume on Monday.

At some point early Saturday morning, the family was moved from the hotel in Revere, and is no longer in the city of Revere at all, Police Chief Joseph Cafarelli told FOX25 on Saturday. Cafarelli said he did not know where the family had been moved.

The FBI declined to comment and cited security concerns due to the ongoing trial.

Cafarelli said their arrival is part of a federal operation, and he was told six witnesses were brought in by the FBI.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, is not among the family members who traveled to the US.

The trip, which is estimated to be costing thousands of dollars, is being paid for with American taxpayer money.

"Why should our country pay for them when that family committed a violent act against our country?" Bombing survivor Marc Fucarile, who testified in court on Thursday, told FOX25. "In contrast, I was denied housing assistance I sought after the bombings, even though I needed a handicapped accessible apartment, and my wife lost her job as a result of the events."
