BOSTON — Massive traffic delays were reported in Charlestown early Monday morning after a tractor-trailer loaded with scrap metal overturned and spilled debris across the road.
The incident was reported before 8:30 a.m. on Route 99 at Sullivan Square between Main and Alford streets.
Only one lane of the road was open to traffic after the crash, which led to the delays.
The clean-up process was able to move quickly after the tractor-trailer was upright and removed from the area.
Three wrecker trucks were brought in to help with removing the debris from the area.
