SURF CITY, N.C. — Tides have washed away sand to reveal the remains of a nearly 100-year-old shipwreck along a North Carolina beach.
The tides in Surf City pushed away enough sand to expose what is left of the William H. Sumner on Tuesday, WWAY reported.
The 165-foot-long schooner ran aground in 1919.
The tides expose unique discoveries like this a few times a year.
