PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — A dog is back home with his owner after police rescued him from a California storm drain.
In a Facebook post, the Palm Springs Police Department said that they were called to help an owner whose lost dog was found trapped in a drainage ditch. Police said that along with animal control officers, the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue Unit was called in because of the dog’s size.
Police said that while some of the officers comforted the dog, others created a system that would allow them to lift Beau out of the drain through a maintenance hole cover.
Beau was not hurt, and police said he was given head pats after he was safely on solid ground.
The dog was returned to his owner, KESQ reported.
