Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, family test positive for coronavirus

Actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that he and his family are recovering from the coronavirus.

Johnson, 48, revealed his family’s condition on Instagram, saying that he, his wife Lauren and their daughters, Jasmine, 4, and Tiana, 2, all tested positive for COVID-19 “about three weeks ago.”

Johnson, who has starred in films such as “Baywatch” and “Jumanji,” said his daughters experienced only mild symptoms, NBC News reported.

Johnson added that his family picked up the virus from “very close family friends,” who were “devastated to find out they had COVID-19.”

“I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family,” Johnson said. “And for me personally too as well, and I’ve gone through some doozies in the past.

“But testing positive for COVID-19 is much different than overcoming nasty injuries, or being evicted, or even being broke, which I have been more than a few times.”

Johnson added that his family is now “on the other side” of COVID-19 and no longer contagious.

“We’re all counting our blessings because we’re well aware that it isn’t always the case that you get on the other end of COVID-19 stronger and healthier,” Johnson said. “... Some of my best friends lost their parents, their loved ones, to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving, and it is insidious.”
