The 20th flight of New Shepard was changed from March 23 to March 29, the company posted to Twitter Thursday night, CNN reported.
Because of the rescheduling, Davidson would not be able to go in the NS-20 mission and will be replaced.
Blue Origin's 20th flight of New Shepard has shifted to Tuesday, March 29. Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission. We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days.
No details were given by Blue Origin or Davidson for why the “Saturday Night Live” comedian would not be able to be part of the NS-20 mission, The New York Times reported.
A new episode of “SNL” was not scheduled to air prior to either date.
Davidson is currently shooting the film “The Home,” E! News reported.
The rest of the passengers who paid for their seats on the New Shepard flight — investor Marty Allen, entrepreneur Jim Kitchen, FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation former associate administrator George Nield and Orlando real estate developer Marc Hagel and his wife, founder of a space-focused non-profit Sharon Hagle — are still slated to be part of the mission, CNN reported.
