Barbra Streisand gifts George Floyd’s daughter with Disney stock

Gianna Floyd, the daughter of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by police during an arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota, might be Disney’s youngest shareholder.

In an Instagram post on an account for the 6-year-old, she can be seen holding what is presumably a Disney shares certificate.

“Thank you Barbra Streisand for my package," the caption reads. “I am now a Disney Stockholder, thanks to you.”

Streisand, 78, also gifted the girl two of her albums, “My Name Is Barbra” and “Color Me Barbra.”

As of Friday night, Disney stock was selling for $115 per share. It’s unclear how many shares Streisand purchased for Gianna.

Texas Southern University in Houston announced that when Gianna comes of age, the school will grant her a full scholarship if she chooses to attend.

“This board is committed to education and understands that a college degree is one of many powerful steps toward a productive and successful life,” Albert H. Myres, chair of the university’s Board of Regents, said in a statement. “We know that this gesture cannot take the place of her dad’s loving presence, but we hope that it will contribute to easing her journey through life.”
