You can turn off annoying Facebook Live notifications now

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

MENLO PARK, Calif. — Facebook is allowing users to turn off notifications about live videos this week.

The social-media site started alerting users to live videos from publishers they follow as part of a push toward video.

There was no way for users to turn off notifications unless they hid notifications as they came in, a tedious process that Digitday reported annoyed many users.

Now, Facebook is giving the option to stop live video notifications. %

BuzzFeed News reported that the feature is slowly rolling out and may not be available to all users yet.

The process of turning off notifications takes some extra steps.

Users can go to "Settings" then "Notifications" and click the drop-down menu next to "Live Videos."

From that menu, users can select "Suggestions Off" or "All Off," and not worry again about being told about live video if they choose.
