Rover.com dug into its database of hundreds of thousands of dog names to come up with the most popular ones nationwide.

According to the research, there were some interesting trends in dog-naming this year -- 53-percent of dog owners, including 75-percent of Millennials, named their dog after a movie or TV character, book character or celebrity. Pokemon, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones-themed names were frequently seen in the database.
Names inspired by powerful woman, such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty White, climbed over 13-percent. Junkfood and alcohol-themed names saw an increase in popularity, as did animal-themed names like Bear, Moose and Tiger.
