CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Emergency crews responded to reports of a teenager that was hit by a train in Chelmsford Wednesday.
Few details have been released, but the Chelmsford fire chief told Boston 25 News that the unidentified 17-year-old male was hit by a Pan Am train traveling from Westford into Chelmsford.
The fire chief said the teenager was walking on the tracks and may have had headphones in at the time of the incident.
Emergency crews found the victim pinned under a rail car and was extricated.
He was alert at the time but suffered several traumatic injuries.
He was flown to a Boston hospital to be treated.
No other information was immediately available.
