Teen killed, another wounded in Pittsfield shooting

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A teenager has died and another is wounded after they were both shot in broad daylight in Pittsfield. Authorities are investigating whether the violence is connected to a July 4 shooting in the city that killed one person and injured four others.

The Berkshire District Attorney's Office says 18-year-old Keenan Pellot Jr. of Pittsfield was killed in the shooting on Tyler Street shortly after 1 p.m. Friday. The prosecutor's office says a 17-year-old Pittsfield boy was shot multiple times but is expected to survive.

Police also are investigating reports of shots fired several blocks away a short time after the teens were shot.

No arrests have been announced.

District Attorney David Capeless says investigators will try to determine if the shooting on Friday was related to the July 4 shooting.
