Suspect in custody, child recovered after alleged parental kidnapping in Waltham

A suspect is in custody and a child was safely recovered after an alleged parental kidnapping in Waltham, police say.

Waltham Police and Massachusetts State Police issued a BOLO around 8:25 p.m. Wednesday for a parental kidnapping after a man with a baby had allegedly left Circle Drive in Waltham, and was possibly heading to the Boston area.

Boston Police got the BOLO and, around 9 p.m. an officer reported the car had been spotted in Boston at the corner of Northhampton Street and Lenox Street, and within minutes, officers reported they had the suspect in custody with the child recovered.

An ambulance was called to check on the child, and Boston 25 News photographers were on scene on Lenox Street as police recovered the child from the car with an ambulance on scene.
