STONEHAM, Mass. — Police in Stoneham are looking for a man they say assaulted on of their officers before hitting a cruiser with his car and then running off.
Matthew Macinnes, 33, is wanted on several charges, including assault and battery on a police officer.
The alleged assault happened after officers showed up on Main Street at 2:15 a.m. for a report of a disturbance, according to police.
Officers said they were going to arrest Macinnes, who they say punched once of the officers before running.
Police say they pursued Mcinnes onto 93 before calling off the chase for safety reasons.
Macinnes is from Tewksbury, police say.
