Softball coach one of two men accused of trying to solicit children online

Police in Nashua, New Hampshire, have arrested two men for allegedly soliciting a child online, one of whom is a former softball coach at Lexington Christian Academy.

On Monday, Oct. 8, members of the Criminal Investigation Division were investigating two men who had been communicating online with a person they believed was a child regarding sexual contact between them.

During the investigation, Jean Yazbek, 63, of Norwood, Massachusetts and Michael Soby, 59, of Pelham, NH, were deemed by investigators as suspects.

As a result of the investigation, both suspects were arrested after traveling separately to Nashua to meet the person they thought was a child.

Both Yazbek and Soby were charged with one count of Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited, a class B felony.

Soby served as the softball coach at Lexington Christian Academy for one season in the spring of 2018 and is no longer employed by the school, Christine Metzger, the Head of School at LCA told Boston 25 News.

Lexington Christian Academy confirmed Soby's former position with the school, saying in a statement"

"Mr. Soby served as the softball coach for one season this past spring. He is no longer employed by LCA.  We will cooperate with authorities if we are contacted."

Yazbek and Soby were released on $500 cash only bail pending their arraignment at the Hillsborough County Superior Court, scheduled for Oct. 18.

If convicted, Yazbek and Soby could face up to seven years in state prison.
