SCITUATE, Mass. — Scituate closed its beaches to swimming Thursday evening due to the risk of rip currents, according to the city's website.
Peggotty, Egypt, Humarock and Minot beaches were listed on the website as closed for swimming Thursday afternoon.

Friday at noon, the town announced that all Scituate beaches had reopened.
If you're headed out to the beaches in Scituate this weekend, the city says you should check the whiteboards to find out if swimming will be allowed.
