ROANOKE, Va. (MyFoxBoston.com) - Two scholarships have been created in memory of slain WDBJ reporter Alison Parker, one of two journalists slain on live TV early Wednesday.
According to WDBJ, James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where Parker graduated in 2012, is accepting donations for the Alison Parker Memorial Scholarship. Those who wish to contribute can send a check to JMU Advancement Gifts and Records, ATTN: Alison Parker Memorial Scholarship, MSC 3603, Harrisonburg, VA 22807. Checks should be written to the JMU Foundation.

In addition, Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Virginia, where Parker, 24, received an associate's degree in 2009, is accepting contributions for the Alison Bailey Parker Memorial Scholarship. Donations can be made online or by mailing cash or checks to the Patrick Henry Community College Foundation, 645 Patriot Ave., Martinsville, VA 24112.
WDBJ reports that a scholarship in memory of cameraman Adam Ward, who also was fatally shot Wednesday, is in the works, as well. Ward, 27, graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011.
