BOSTON — The Salvation Army is providing some much needed holiday joy this week to thousands of families in the Boston area by holding its annual “Christmas Castle” event at the castle at Boston Park Plaza.
The event is one of the largest holiday distribution initiatives in Massachusetts, which provides toys, food, and winter coats to families in the Boston area.
Hundreds of volunteers, including Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster, are helping to put smiles on the faces of about 15,000 people this year.
The Christmas Castle also brings together nearly two dozen Boston areas and businesses looking to make a difference in their community. Not only do the people attending get to shop for coats and toys, they also get a voucher for Christmas dinner.
The event continues through Wednesday, Dec. 18. If you’d like to make a donation to the group, click here.
