Saint Vincent Hospital, Massachusetts Nurses Association reach tentative agreement

800 nurses at a Massachusetts hospital preparing to strike Nurses at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester are planning to strike Monday following what they described as failed negotiations with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, which owns the hospital.

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Massachusetts Nurses Association along with Saint Vincent Hospital announced a tentative agreement to end the nurses’ strike, Friday evening.

If the deal is approved by members of the union, all striking nurses will be allowed to return to their previous jobs, while all permanent replacement nurses will remain in their current positions.

According to the Massachusetts Nurses Association, Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh mediated the in-person session where the deal was reached.

The nurses went on strike on March 8th. It is the longest hospital strike in Massachusetts history.
