Report: CEO of Suffolk Construction will not bid on Olympic projects

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The CEO of Suffolk Construction says he will not bid on projects for the Summer Games if Boston is chosen for the 2024 Olympics.

John Fish spearheaded the Olympic bid with his Boston 2024 partnership. Fish told the Boston Herald that Suffolk Construction will still pursue contracts with universities, Massport, and state transportation that will undergo construction and upgrades ahead of the Olympics, but said that he is walking away from billions of dollars of work so that he can act as a civic leader and avoid any conflicts of interest.

Fish expects 33 designated Olympic venues to be finalized over the next few years.
