Quincy teen killed in NH crash, 16-year-old seriously injured

NEW HAMPTON, N.H. — A Quincy teenager has died after a single-car crash on I-93 north in New Hampshire.

At 6:30 a.m. Friday, police were called to mile marker 72 in New Hampton for a vehicle that had gone off the roadway.

Police say it's unknown what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, but they believe speed was a factor. The vehicle crashed through a guardrail and became airborne before landing on its side.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Lucien Therberge of Quincy, Massachusetts was pronounced dead at the scene. A 16-year-old passenger was seriously injured and flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. No additional information on their condition was available.
