BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Former DCF Commissioner Olga Roche was ousted from her job in May, but when she finally left, Governor Deval Patrick told reporters she would be staying on as a paid consultant until August 1, 2014.
When Fox 25 began asking questions Monday about whether or not Roche is still currently working as a consultant at DCF, HHS Spokesman Alec Loftus told us Roche has been on family medical leave, and asked for privacy.
When Fox 25 asked what was the date of Roche's last paycheck, Loftus referred us to Open Checkbook, which shows an accumulation of her salary year to date as $100,939.00. Her annual salary is listed at $139,758.
In a statement emailed to Fox 25, Roche said "I have been on a family medical leave, and I hope that the privacy of myself and my family is respected during this time."
In a statement, HHS Spokesman Alec Loftus said "Olga Roche has released a statement on this matter. She has asked that we respect her privacy, and we will of course honor that request."
Roche resigned under heavy scrutiny in the wake of the death of 5-year old Jeremiah Oliver of Fitchburg, and two other children under her watch.
Patrick reluctantly accepted her resignation, pushing back against repeated calls for her to step down.
