Teenagers gunned down in Dorchester expected to survive

BOSTON — Two people were shot in the city's Dorchester neighborhood, police confirmed late Wednesday night.

Boston Police officers responded to a call for several shots fired at around 9:50 p.m. in the area of 41 Michigan Avenue.

At the scene, officers found two teenagers, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to local hospitals, where they are in critical but stable condition.

Police said the victims were found on Ellington Street, a street parallel to Michigan Ave.

According to BPD Commissioner William Gross, the two victims were riding around in motorized scooters when suspects fired shots at them.

"There are too many guns on the street," said Commissioner Gross. "Teenagers shot on the street, that's not acceptable."

No arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Boston Police.
