BOSTON — A person was seriously injured after she was dragged by a car before being hit by a taxi cab in Boston's Newmarket Square early Sunday morning, according to police.
Police say four women were involved in an altercation near Victoria's Diner on Massachusetts Avenue, before one of them got in her car and dragged another.
Brianna Smith, 26, allegedly dragged a 29-year-old woman with her car just before 4 a.m. and was arrested later in the morning, according to police. The taxi cab was coming the opposite direction and police said couldn't avoid hitting the woman being dragged.
The 29-year-old victim was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A second person was taken to the hospital, but wasn't seriously injured. It's unclear how that person was involved in the incident.
The driver of the taxi stayed on scene. Both the cab and the other car were towed from the scene.
