Peabody Police officer taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle

A Peabody Police officer was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle, the department said.

The department confirmed officers were on scene at a motor vehicle accident on Lake Street, where an officer was struck.

The officer was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, but the extent of their injuries, and was conscious after the incident.

Peabody Police said the officer's family is with him at the hospital, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police said the officer was investigating a crash when he was hit, and he was heard calling for help for himself after he was struck.

The department posted on Facebook, thanking everyone for their support.
